My Referral Network

I'm not an expert in everything, but I know who is

Sometimes my patients are dealing with an issue that is out of my scope or abilities to resolve. If necessary, I will reach out to my colleagues or research your condition to try to find an answer for you. When appropriate, I will refer you to a different clinician who can help you. I often refer to breastfeeding medicine physicians, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. When appropriate we will also discuss referrals to practitioners who can evaluate your baby to see if a procedure to address tongue tie may be helpful. I will provide multiple options whenever I can, including ones who accept your insurance.

Most of my patients do an optional mental health screening, and I will provide referrals for psychotherapists when appropriate or requested. In California I know of many who accept insurance and are specialized in the postpartum period. I can also recommend a reproductive psychiatrist for more complex psychological concerns.

I believe that everyone deserves to see a pelvic floor physical therapist after pregnancy, and some of them accept insurance too. I will be happy to provide referrals for that too.

Did you know that in California, many insurances will now pay for a postpartum doula? Please ask me if you would like help finding one who is in network with you.

I have two beloved colleagues who lead online postpartum support groups open to anyone in the world. Please let me know if you would like more information about this!
