About me
I have been working as a bilingual dictionary editor for many years, but after my first daughter was born in 2021, I became very interested in the birth, postpartum, and feeding experience. After my second daughter was born in 2023, I decided to follow my dreams and start working with new parents. The transition to parenthood stirs up so many emotions and I know from my own life how overwhelming it can be, and how much a strong support system can shape the experience. I am here to be that support system for you and help you navigate this new phase of your life and make you and your family feel more heard, more nurtured, and less overwhelmed. I am especially interested in supporting postpartum physical recovery, establishing healthy baby sleep habits, helping with infant and child feeding and nutrition, nurturing siblings as they integrate a new baby into their lives, and guiding clients as they balance the load of parenthood with their own wellbeing, relationships, and rest.A bit more about me: I am a Certified Lactation Counselor and am training to be a board-certified lactation consultant through UCSD (IBCLC certification expected 2025), and I am currently doing a nine-month internship at the outpatient lactation clinic at UCSF. I am especially excited to work there because they are the top birthing hospital in the region and see some of the most complex feeding difficulties in their particularly high-risk patient population. I have low milk supply and have personal experience with many infant feeding challenges, and I pumped for almost a year with my first daughter and combination fed both daughters, so I am very familiar with formula and bottle feeding as well as breast/chestfeeding. I am here to support parents however they choose to feed their babies.I am certified in American Red Cross Basic Life Support for infants, children, and adults, and I have all the standard vaccinations required of healthcare workers in hospitals. I have recently done coursework in nutrition and child development. I have a bachelor’s in English and French literature from the University of Chicago and am comfortable working in Portuguese (fluent), French (advanced) and Spanish (conversational) as a doula in your home, in case this is helpful for your family situation. I practice gentle parenting with my own kids and use many RIE and Montessori techniques and I will always treat your baby with respect. I have studied infant and postpartum care extensively for my own life, and I am excited to share what I know with my clients. Thank you for considering working with me!
